Jeremy Kyle is lying low at his wealthy friend’s luxury golf club after his show was axed over the suspected suicide of a guest.

The presenter, 53, was spotted by golfers at Close House near Newcastle this week.

Staff at the exclusive Tyne Valley resort, owned by his millionaire friend Graham Wylie, reported seeing the pair enjoying rounds together, according to The Sun.

Close House is popular with celebrities, including Ant and Dec, football pundit Alan Shearer and singer Ronan Keating.

The host’s stay comes months after The Jeremy Kyle Show was axed by ITV after the death of guest Steve Dymond.

He faced a furious backlash after news of Mr Dymond’s death broke, with the broadcaster immediately suspending the show.

Weeks later bosses took the decision to permanently take the show off the air pending an investigation by MPs.

Members of the Government’s Department of Digital, Culture, Media and Sport committee last month slammed the host for his ‘irresponsible’ conduct on the show.

Kyle refused to appear before the committee, but in his absence MPs branded the programme ‘fake’ and ‘irresponsible’ and said they were ‘astonished’ producers couldn’t tell them how accurate the tests used to out guests as liars really are.

A member of the golf club posted on Twitter on Sunday: ‘Weird day at golf today – 4 putted from 10 ft, chatted to Jeremy Kyle on the fairway then saw a matte grey Bentley 4×4. Normal few hours at Close House.’

Rooms at the hotel cost more than £200 a night. It is owned by Kyle’s friend Graham Wylie, a computer software tycoon who also has a house in the grounds.

Set in the rolling Northumberland Hills, Close House boasts an exclusive restaurant and luxury accommodation.

Kyle, who is a keen golfer, is believed to have been given a £3million payout when his show ended. He said he was ‘utterly devastated’.

Mr Dymond, 63, died days after appearing on the show, during which he allegedly failed a lie detector test.

Kyle previously admitted the tests, used on the show since 2005, were ‘not 100% accurate’, saying: ‘We’ve always made it very, very clear to viewers and participants of the show’.

Mr Dymond left three suicide notes, none of which blamed the programme for his decision to take his own life.

He was buried in a pauper’s funeral in front of just five mourners in June

This week, a other who appeared on the show with her violent boyfriend was found after vanishing three weeks ago with their newborn baby.
