Freddie sported a low-key hoodie and jeans combo as he got behind the wheel of his Rolls Royce just days after escaping injury.

The retired sporting star confirmed that he was completely unharmed after his trike careered off the road.

Freddie climbed into his luxury vehicle with ease as he drove off for the day, after returning to filming just a day after his close call.

It comes after Freddie engaged in a gruelling exercise session for the first time since he escaped injury.

In a clip posted to his Instagram account on Thursday, the Ashes champion performed a series of lateral pull-down moves as he reassured fans he’s ‘moving alright’.

The former all-rounder was dressed in a loose-fitting black T-shirt and matching shorts as he showcased his sporting prowess while using the exercise machine.

TV presenter Freddie captioned the short video: ‘Moving alright for a bloke who had a 124mph crash.’

Earlier in the week, he insisted he’s ‘absolutely fine’ after his terrifying vehicle accident.

The crash comes 13 years after former Top Gear host Richard Hammond was airlifted to hospital with serious head injuries as he crashed his car during filming on the same track.

The Preston native reportedly careered his high speed trike off the road as he filmed the high-speed race.

Crew members rushed to Freddie – who was wearing a full motorcycling suit and helmet for the scenes – but he emerged with barely a scratch.

The former England captain later told MailOnline: ‘I’m absolutely fine and was back filming today.

‘I go to great lengths to make sure I do well in Top Gear drag races but on this occasion I went a few lengths too far. It will look more ridiculous than dangerous when you see it on TV.’

A Top Gear spokesperson told MailOnline: ‘The health and safety of our presenters and crew on Top Gear is paramount. As viewers of the recent series will have seen, Freddie is often keen to get ”off the beaten track.”

‘Tuesday’s filming at Elvington Airfield was no exception – but he suffered no injuries as a result of his spontaneous detour, as fans will see for themselves when we show the sequence in full in the next series.

Freddie took over as the host of Top Gear earlier this year, alongside Paddy McGuinness and Chris Harris, and the trio have been well-received by die hard fans of the show.

The crash comes after Richard Hammond, 49, was left in a coma after a serious crash on the same track during filming in September 2006.

The presenter crashed a jet-powered Vampire dragster vehicle while travelling at 288mph, and spent five weeks in hospital recovering from his injuries.

Earlier this year Richard also revealed that he suffered from post-traumatic amnesia and memory loss that was so severe he didn’t even recognise his wife Mindy.

Mindy told The Telegraph: ‘It was disconcerting when, early after the crash, Richard looked at me from his hospital bed and said, ”You’re lovely, but you’re not my wife”.

‘When I corrected him, he responded, ”No, you’re not my wife, my wife is French”. Indeed, when he was allowed home five weeks later, it became clear that Richard’s memory loss was no short-term affliction.’
